"Shedding my Falsehoods"

20” x 30” 3-d hand sculpted, used polyester found dresses chopped up and fused to felt and top stitched via machine, then used soldering gun to melt away parts of fabric. Used a paster cast of my face to create a ceramic clay piece, used found objects like the nest and eggs.

Idea is that in order to return to the person who you were originally, we have to shed, let go all of the synthetic falsehoods we drape over ourselves until we find the true nurturing caring person you used to be.

"Why Susan could never sit still in class"

We don’t discuss often about girls having ADD, especially in the ‘60’s. Found chair and I used had-dyed material and I created a variety of shapes and textures….I hope the take away is that this is not a very comfortable chair and one hard to sit still in for hours.
